Naison Machingauta is a law lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe. He holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree
from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Laws Degree in Local Government Law from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa. His interests are in human rights and governance

An Assessment of the State of Zimbabwe’s compliance with the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child- A Research conducted on behalf of the Justice for Children Trust (JCT), 2010.
• Consultancy to develop a Discussion Paper and Drafting Principles and Instructions on the alignment of local government legislation with the Constitution, October to December 2015. Work done on behalf of Centre for Applied Legal Research.
• Consultancy to develop the Zero Drafts Local Authorities and Provincial and Metropolitan Councils Bills for the Centre for Applied Legal Research, November 2015 to January 2016.
• With T C Chigwata and Jaap de Visser J (2014) ‘Unpacking devolution in the 2013 Constitution of Zimbabwe’. A paper prepared for the Local Governance Community Capacity Building and Development Trust, Zimbabwe.
• Consultancy to develop Model Local Authorities and Provincial and Metropolitan Council laws for the Law Society of Zimbabwe 2016.
• Consultancy to produce proposed amendments to the Provincial Councils Administration Act for the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum, 2018.
