Biography:

Shelter Chahuruva a passionate and licensed Social Worker. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work Honours Degree and a Master of Social Work Degree both from the University of Zimbabwe. I am a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe under the Department of Social Work. She has vast and extensive experience in working in health sector, child protection organs, people with disabilities, women, mental health sector, clinical social work issues, etcetera. These experiences were gained from various settings such as St Giles Rehabilitation Centre, Oasis of Hope Zimbabwe, CATCH Zimbabwe, Harare Central Hospital, Mental Health Services Department under the Ministry of Health and Child Care Head Office, lecturing Social Work courses and provision of clinical services as a private practitioner. The opportunity from Mental Health Service Department under the Ministry of Health and Child Care offered her extensive experience in formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policy instruments and advocating for various groups of people at different levels.
